Hotel Group Rate Now Open

I know it's early, but we have signed a contract with Palace Station already, so here is the information on how to book your room.  In response to the steep price jump in room rates for AMVIV5, we have negotiated and sliding rate for AMVIV6.  The early birds save $20 a night!  If you book your room by January 25th, you pay $79 for courtyard rooms and $119 for Tower rooms, which is $10 per night less than in 2008.  After January 25th, the rate goes up to $99 and $139.  So make sure you book early!

Event Mailing List

Add yourself to the AMVIV mailing list here. Keep up to date with all the AMVIV news as it happens. We promise not to use your email address for anything other than actual AMVIV related emails, and we won't send too many of those, just the things you need to know.

Prior AMVIV videos for your enjoyment

The Sin City MINI Club's own Ladd has put together a video showing some of the fun from prior AMVIVs. Have a look here. It includes still images from various people, plus video from the plane that followed several runs last year and the Strip overpass during the Strip Cruise.

Rob Saunders posted back in April '07 a great video of his experiences at AMVIV4. Have a look here. You might see yourself in it if you were here.

I also have finally done my writeup of AMVIV5. Have a look.

MotorTrend covered AMVIV4

Many thanks go out to our good friend Melissa aka WickedGolf who is a MotorTrend writer and convinced her bosses to cover AMVIV for the 2nd time.
Read her coverage on MotorTrend.com.

Melissa's coverage of AMVIV3 is still accessible here.

HISTORY

In September of 2003, Dominic Tuso and Andrew Ross started talking about organizing a group drive for about 10 to 20 of the Arizona MINI Owners to visit Las Vegas for a weekend of fun and relaxation. By the time the drive happened in February of 2004, it had snowballed to a national event with MINIs and Minis coming from all over the US, as well as attention from other countries, and somewhere over 200 cars attending (we never did get an accurate count).

That was A MINI Vacation In Vegas. The original. It was such a success and so much fun, that there was an immediate call to start planning a sequel event. After some intense volunteering, it was decided that the Sin City MINI Club would co-ordinate the 2005 event, A MINI Vacation In Vegas II (aka AMVIV2). AMVIV2 happened in early March of 2005 and was bigger and better than the original, so we started planning AMVIV3 a couple of months after it ended.

To try to get some better weather and to ensure that a track day could occur, AMVIV3 moved to the end of March, 2006. The end result was over 300 cars and a fantastic event that was a huge hit in the MINI community.

AMVIV4 was March 22 - 25th, 2007 and built on the previous success. The final count was just under 500 MINIs and Minis, and the event has become known as one of the biggest and funnest MINI events in the world.

In 2008, AMVIV5 ran from March 27 - 30th (the weekend of the last Sunday in March, as usual) and attracted 572 MINIs and Minis. The dates for 2009 are March 26 - 29th and we'll see you here.
